Taymer International Incorporated is a rapidly growing innovator of computer vision inspection systems for the Medical Devices and Wire & Cable industries. We currently require an enthusiastic Computer Vision Developer to join our team of engineers and technicians in the Vision Department. You will be responsible for the design and development of Taymer’s new and existing computer vision inspection systems.

Position Summary

Tasks will range from R&D of new concepts, all the way through the design and manufacturing process to commissioning machines at the customer site.

Education Requirements

  • BS in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical, Mechatronics or Systems.

Work Experience Requirements

  • 3 or more years of experience in C++ and Qt development.
  • Experience in developing modern, user-friendly interfaces using Qt, with a strong understanding of UI/UX principles and practical implementation.
  • Experience in the computer vision industry and manufacturing environments is an asset.

Qualifications

  • Strong fundamentals in C/C++ development.
  • Proficient in Qt framework for desktop application development.
  • Solid understanding of UI/UX design principles.
  • Experience in modular software architecture, including separating front-end and back-end components.
  • Familiarity with computer vision and image processing concepts is an asset.
  • Experience with OpenCV or similar libraries is an asset.
  • Experience in machine learning is an asset.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with others.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision. Initiative to discover and learn.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Migrate existing MFC based software to the Qt framework.
  • Implement modern UI/UX designs, ensuring intuitive and efficient operator interaction for vision inspection systems.
  • Restructure existing software to achieve a separation between front-end and back-end components.
  • Design, develop, and maintain applications for Taymer’s vision inspection systems.
  • Collaborate with engineers and technical sales to define requirements, workflows, and user interface specifications.
  • Sophisticated image processing and computer vision algorithm development using OpenCV libraries.
  • Dive into current R&D problems and challenges including but not limited to image processing, machine learning, OCR.
  • Electrical and software integration with various sensors and components in automation including but not limited to cameras, PLC’s, encoders etc.
  • Technical communications with external parties including customers and suppliers.
  • Commissioning of vision systems in at different customer sites.
  • US and overseas travel: 1 week per 2 to 3 months.
