We currently require a Machinery Service Engineer to join our team of Mechanical, Electrical and Photonics Engineers. You will be supported by our international team professionals from Canada, Germany, USA, China, Mexico, India and Singapore.

Position Summary

Taymer continues to grow significantly as our technology becomes more widely accepted in the market. This is an excellent opportunity to learn and grow with us in these new product arenas. The successful applicant will be comfortable working remote and travelling to customer locations, as well as solving electro-mechanical issues on the fly.

Qualifications/Requirements

Mechanical or Mechatronics Engineering Degree or similar
Excellent communication skills in Japanese
Eligible to work in Japan

Work Experience Requirements

Minimum 2 years experience in mechanical design
Experience in Manufacturing an asset
Experience in machine design an asset
Some experience in design principles, engineering change documentation
Experience in international business an asset
Experience in wire and cable industry an asset

Skills

Ability to communicate effectively with others
Comfortable communicating directly with customers
Work between Engineering and the customer to determine the best fit solution
Ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be a self-starter
Strong attention to detail
Strong mechanical aptitude
Solid understanding of parametric 3d modelling, Onshape a plus
Familiar with principles of machine design
Familiar with AutoCAD and Microsoft Software Suite
Ability to travel internationally
Understanding of electrical circuits or devices a plus
Strong Electrical and Mechanical troubleshooting skills
Familiar with industrial control systems

Duties and responsibilities

Install and service Taymer equipment at cutomer locations
Regular travel to customer location in Japan
International travel an option
Design, detail and construct Taymer’s new and existing cable marking, measuring, and inspecting equipment
Evaluate customers’ requirements, prepare quotations and liaise with production to ensure customer needs are met
Work together with Mechanical Technicians to assemble, fabricate and service components for Taymer’s machinery in the field
